Angeion Group: is a settlement notice from Angeion real?
Updated · Sources
Angeion Group is a real Philadelphia firm that judges put in charge of mailing class notices, building case websites and paying claims; its legal name is Angeion Group, LLC U.S. District Court, N.D. Cal., Cabrera v. Google LLC, No. 5:11-cv-01263-EJD, Dkt. 900-1checked October 1, 2026. Angeion's website has no case list, so a notice that names it is confirmed another way: through the court record and the settlements on this site that Angeion runs, as the steps below show.

The company behind the name
Angeion's about page dates its founding to 2013 Angeion Groupchecked October 1, 2026 and lists, besides the Philadelphia head office, an office at 200 Vesey Street, 24th Floor, New York, NY 10281 and one at 8 St. James's Square, London SW1Y 4JU. For 2022, the same page says it distributed more than 10 million digital payments, a figure the company gives about itself.
The group has grown by purchase. Its press releases say a private equity firm, Renovus Capital Partners, made a majority investment in 2024 Angeion Groupchecked October 1, 2026; that Angeion bought the bankruptcy administrator Donlin Recano (release dated February 7, 2025 Angeion Groupchecked October 1, 2026); merged with Case Works (release dated March 27, 2025 Angeion Groupchecked October 1, 2026); and acquired MedQuest (release dated February 20, 2026 Angeion Groupchecked October 1, 2026). None of these is a former name of Angeion, and we found no former name.
Angeion runs several settlements covered on this site: the Amazon returns settlement, the RealPage rent settlement and the Kroger prescription settlement, plus one case on the list of settlements that need no proof. Each of those pages gives that case's official website and dates.
What an Angeion postcard and email look like
A postcard notice that Angeion prepared was filed in a Pennsylvania federal case, with the other notice papers for that settlement (Exhibits: CAFA notice letter (Jan 29, 2026), postcard notice, long-form notice, claim form). It shows:
- Two codes: a Notice ID and a Confirmation Code U.S. District Court, E.D. Pa., Kujawa v. Tate & Kirlin Associates, Inc., No. 2:25-cv-00768, Dkt. 24-2checked October 1, 2026.
- Two printed lines: "A federal court authorized this notice." and "This is not a solicitation from a lawyer."
- A street address, not a P.O. box, as the return address: c/o Settlement Administrator, 1650 Arch Street, Suite 2210, Philadelphia, PA 19103 U.S. District Court, E.D. Pa., Kujawa v. Tate & Kirlin Associates, Inc., No. 2:25-cv-00768, Dkt. 24-2checked October 1, 2026, under the case name. It is the same suite as Angeion's head office.
- A website made for the case (www.TKASettlement.com U.S. District Court, E.D. Pa., Kujawa v. Tate & Kirlin Associates, Inc., No. 2:25-cv-00768, Dkt. 24-2checked October 1, 2026 in that one) and a toll-free number used only for that case.
For email, Angeion has described its practice under oath in notice plans for individual cases. In one it stated: “Angeion does not include attachments like the Long-Form Notice or Claim Form” U.S. District Court, N.D. Cal., Hoang To v. DirectToU, LLC, No. 3:24-cv-06447-WHO, Dkt. 97checked October 1, 2026. It also said it would send notice by first class U.S. Mail where the email could not be delivered, and that the case would have a toll-free hotline devoted to the case. That case's website was www.vppasettlement.com U.S. District Court, N.D. Cal., Hoang To v. DirectToU, LLC, No. 3:24-cv-06447-WHO, Dkt. 109checked October 1, 2026. An email that carries the long-form notice or a claim form as an attachment does not match what Angeion described, though plans can differ by case.
Court records may also show the address cafa.angeiongroup.com U.S. District Court, E.D. Pa., Kujawa v. Tate & Kirlin Associates, Inc., No. 2:25-cv-00768, Dkt. 24-2checked October 1, 2026. It appears in a letter Angeion sends to government officials under the Class Action Fairness Act; it is not where class members file claims.
Why people doubt Angeion notices
- The name is unfamiliar. The postcard comes from "c/o Settlement Administrator" in Philadelphia, not from the company being sued, and points to a website no one has heard of. In the Angeion cases read for this page, each case had a new domain of its own.
- The codes look like a login. A Notice ID and a Confirmation Code on one card can look like a phishing setup. In the filed postcard they are the codes for the case's own claim form.
- The payment arrives from another company. Angeion's chief executive stated in a sworn declaration that it pays through agreements with two vendors, Digital Disbursements and Blackhawk U.S. District Court, N.D. Cal., Cabrera v. Google LLC, No. 5:11-cv-01263-EJD, Dkt. 900-1checked October 1, 2026. The vendor's name, not Angeion's, may be on the payment email or card.
- The prepaid card lawsuit. A combined federal case alleges that digital payment card providers shared revenue from unredeemed cards with administrators, Angeion among them. It is described below.
How to check a notice that names Angeion
Angeion's website lists no class action cases: we read its sitemap and menus, and the cases it features are mass tort, injury and bankruptcy matters. So the court record is the check.
- If your notice is for one of the Angeion settlements linked above, open that page here and compare the official website it gives, letter by letter, with the one on your notice.
- Otherwise, take the case name and court from the notice and find the case (how to look up a class action case). Look for the preliminary approval order: it is where Angeion's appointment and the settlement website are written down.
- Type that website into your browser yourself. Your Notice ID and Confirmation Code are entered there, on the claim form.
- Call the toll-free number printed on the case website if you have questions about that case. Angeion's head office number in the box above is the company line.
- For a payment email, compare the payment options it shows with the payment section of the case website before choosing one.
Court records about Angeion's payments
In the Cabrera v. Google settlement, Angeion's chief executive filed a sworn declaration (Declaration of Steven Weisbrot (Angeion CEO), under penalty of perjury). It lists the payment choices in that case: paper check, Venmo, Direct Deposit, virtual prepaid Mastercard U.S. District Court, N.D. Cal., Cabrera v. Google LLC, No. 5:11-cv-01263-EJD, Dkt. 900-1checked October 1, 2026. It also says, in Angeion's words, that "Angeion generates revenue in connection with the settlements for which Blackhawk acts as Angeion's subcontractor." On card balances, Angeion states that it receives no part of unused card balances. Both statements are the company's own account.
Class counsel's reply in that case refers to Baker v. Angeion Group, LLC, et al., No. 2:25-cv-02079-KBH (E.D. Pa.) U.S. District Court, N.D. Cal., Cabrera v. Google LLC, No. 5:11-cv-01263-EJD, Dkt. 900checked October 1, 2026, a lawsuit against Angeion that became part of MDL No. 3162, the combined federal case whose history is set out on the Epiq page. The Panel's transfer order of December 12, 2025 Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation, In re Class Action Settlement Administration Litigation, MDL No. 3162checked October 1, 2026 describes the claims asserted in Baker: payment card providers, among them Digital Settlement Technologies LLC d/b/a Digital Disbursements Payments, are alleged to have shared the "breakage" from unredeemed cards with administrators. Angeion joined the administrator defendants' motion to dismiss, filed on July 17, 2026 U.S. District Court, D.D.C., In re Class Action Settlement Administration Litigation, No. 1:25-mc-00179-JDB, Dkt. 143-1checked October 1, 2026, which argues that they owe class members no fiduciary duty. This page reports no ruling on it.
We found no fact-check of an Angeion notice and no official record of a scam using Angeion's name. Angeion's own Fraud Prevention page is about catching false claims filed against settlements; it gives class members no way to check a notice. For the signs that apply to every notice, see how to tell whether a settlement notice is real.
